These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Contact Me LLC ("Contact Me," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the Contact Me mobile application (the "App") and our website at contactme-hq.com (together, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What Contact Me Is, and Is Not
Contact Me lets you send urgent sound alerts to trusted contacts individually or as a group, call back with one tap, control who is allowed to alert you, share your location with contacts you approve and see theirs on a map, and manage alert settings such as quiet mode and volume.
Contact Me is not an emergency service. The App does not connect you to 911 or any other emergency, police, fire, or medical service, and it must never be used as a substitute for one.
Alert delivery depends on factors outside our control, including network coverage, device settings, battery, and whether the recipient's device is on. We do not guarantee that any alert will be delivered, that the recipient will see or hear it, or that the recipient will respond, answer, or call back. Location shown in the App may be delayed, approximate, or unavailable, and must not be relied on in an emergency. In any emergency, always call your local emergency number first.
2. Your Account and Age Requirement
The Services are intended for users aged 13 and older. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. We do not verify the age of our users and have no obligation to do so. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and if we become aware that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will remove the account and associated information.
- You register by signing in with your Google account or Apple account, which is also how your account is verified. If you provide a phone number, we may send you text messages related to the Services.
- You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your device and sign-in credentials secure.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly at the contact email below if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. Trusted Contacts, Groups, and Consent
To connect with someone, you enter their phone number and send them a request. The number must belong to an existing Contact Me account. If no account matches the number you enter, no request is sent and nothing is delivered to that number.
Nothing is shared between you until the other person accepts your request, and either of you can remove the connection at any time, which immediately stops alerts and any location sharing in both directions.
You may only send alerts to people who have accepted your request. Do not send requests to people who have asked you not to contact them. Recipients control who can alert them. Groups are made up of your accepted trusted contacts and are used to send alerts to several people at once.
You can also invite someone to try Contact Me by sharing a link from your own device using your phone's normal sharing options. Invitations you send this way come from you, not from us, and we do not message anyone who does not have an account.
4. Location Sharing
Location sharing is optional and off unless you turn it on. If you enable it and grant the "Always" location permission, the App collects your location on an ongoing basis, including while the App is closed, so that your approved contacts can see your current position without you opening the App. If you grant only "While Using the App," location is collected solely while the App is open.
Your location is visible only to the specific trusted contacts you approve. You can stop sharing with any individual contact, turn location sharing off entirely, or revoke or downgrade the permission in your device settings at any time. Turning location off does not disable alerts.
You may only view another person's location with their ongoing consent. Location shown in the App depends on the other person's device, permissions, and network connection, and may be delayed, approximate, or unavailable.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use alerts to harass, threaten, spam, or repeatedly disturb another person;
- Use location sharing to stalk, track, monitor, or surveil any person without their knowledge and ongoing consent, or to pressure or coerce anyone into sharing their location;
- Send false alarms or misuse urgent alerts for non-urgent matters in a way that harms others;
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity;
- Submit content, including a profile photo or alert message, that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringes anyone's rights;
- Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Services;
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Your Content
You keep ownership of your profile photo and the messages you send through the App ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and transmit it solely to operate and provide the Services. You are responsible for your User Content and confirm you have the rights needed to share it.
7. Subscriptions and Purchases
- Contact Me is free to download. Some features require a paid subscription, offered on monthly and annual plans. Current pricing is shown in the App and on the App Store before you purchase.
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account and renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device's App Store subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. Except where required by law, purchases are non-refundable through us, and refund requests go through Apple.
- We may change subscription features or pricing going forward; changes will not affect a billing period you have already paid for.
8. Intellectual Property
The Services, including the App, design, logos, and all content we provide, are owned by Contact Me LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the App Store's usage rules.
9. Third-Party Services, Analytics, and Tracking
The Services rely on third parties including Apple (distribution, sign-in, and push notifications), Google Firebase (sign-in, database, and storage), mapping providers, telecom carriers (SMS and calls), AppsFlyer (marketing attribution and analytics), and RevenueCat (subscription management). We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or availability of third-party services, including your carrier's message and data rates.
The App will ask your permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier. If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared and every feature of the App continues to work normally. Our Privacy Policy explains what these providers receive and how to change your choice.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 11 through 14) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any alert will be delivered, noticed, or responded to, or that any location shown will be accurate, current, or available. Your use of the Services is at your own risk.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Contact Me LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Services, including any failed, delayed, unnoticed, or unanswered alert, or any inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable location. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) if you have paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Contact Me LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of your place of residence.
15. Apple App Store Terms
These Terms are between you and Contact Me LLC only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the App or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. To the extent required, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the App must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means and update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
